I was asked to write a piece of music for the epilogue of a new film called ‘Generation Right’. The film tells the story of Margaret Thatcher’s long reign as UK Prime Minister, and appeared at Sheffield DocFest as well as East End Film Festival in 2015.
Generation Right is directed by Michelle Coomber and produced by Medina films in association with Sheffield DocFest and Sheffield University.
The film dives into lesser known personal characteristics of Thatcher and draws on expert analysis of ‘Thatcherism,’ bringing to light its effects and legacies on today. I was asked to compose a track aesthetically referring to sounds of the era, while steadily building to a hard hitting finality.
Here’s the track.
