MY LIFE IN BOXES

I composed the music for this imaginative physical theatre piece created by Gravity Dolls. It premiered at Melbourne Fringe in September 2014 and won the ‘Original New Circus’ award.

My Life in Boxes unpacks the story of a pathological hoarder on the brink of being uprooted from her carefully constructed existence and placed into palliative care. As her world shifts beneath her, coveted items are unearthed and memories are animated with magical realism as they take on new meanings in her final stages of life.

Exploring themes of grief, guilt, perception and happiness, My Life in Boxes unfolds between the past and the present, the ground and the air in an imaginarium, coloured by circus, movement and spoken word.
