Fashion designer Kristie Coakley approached me asking for an original sounding band to accompany and launch her catwalk event at the South Melbourne street festival in February 2012. Naturally the first thing to do was get Jake Cartwright to join Paully Rowe and me in making a spectacle which encompassed the influences of Kristie’s garments. There was a list of various situations to soundtrack. “Think seaside Italy circa 1950,” was one of her suggestions. Three weeks and several bottles of wine later, we had a suite of tracks ready. The one featured in the video was a new take on a song I’d written nearly 10 years earlier walking over a bridge in Prague. The other seven tracks were all fresh off the tray.
